Get Real Pantry Purge Inventory List 2

I've pledged to participate in Get Real this year and I'm tackling my Great Pantry Purge in stages. For January Week 1, Kelly asked us to make a list of the items in our pantry that we think aren't whole foods and then plan your purge of these items (basically figure out what you're going to make with the food, or you can also donate some of the items to a food pantry). Earlier in the week I posted my cans and boxes inventory list.

Today's list is comprised of all three (yes, three) freezers in the house. We have two fridge/freezer combos and a stand-alone freezer (I once had an entire stand-alone freezer full of breast milk, so we really did need the space). It was a scary proposition tackling the three freezers because they are all so full.

Some of the more interesting things I found included:
  • a turkey carcass from three Thanksgivings ago (I just knew I'd make turkey broth for the meat-eaters...someday).
  • a gallon bag of white pasta with broccoli, labeled "Tomato Soup."
  • a box of microwave Lean Cuisine Cheese Lasagna leftover from when my 3-year-old was about 6 months old and I didn't have much time to feed myself.
  • a small bowl, a large bowl and a bag of unidentifiable brown stuff (incentive to always use labels. ALWAYS).
I'm not tackling condiments and bottled sauces yet. Those will come in time (and I'm already working on Homemade Condiments & Sauces).

Today I'm just listing everything I found in my freezers without regard to what's real and what's not. There was just too much to tackle and I really wanted a freezer inventory, too. I might even go through and transfer it to a Freezer Inventory Worksheet and be super organized.

Upstairs freezer:
